Forerunner is for string quartet and live processing, and was written for the JACK Quartet. Over the course of the music, one idea (the ghostly tremolo) is gradually crossfaded into another idea (the arpeggiations). The electronics are responsive - a crescendo amplifies both the sound and the effects used.
